I have same problem/question. It appears to be saving location of clip rather than clip itself.

right click and save target as.. it should say MP3 Sound.

It doesn't. What opens when you just left click on it. WMP opens for me.

have you played mp3s on your pc? is it an old pc? if yes, install a free player like itunes...

It is a brand new PC. It haw WMP and Real Player. Latest edditions. They play MP3's. I can hear the song when I click "listen" but cdan not save them.

Your not wanting to BUY these from wal-mart. What I am talking about is - say you want to order a CD from Wal-Mart.com. Well in doing so you can sample some of the songs on the CD before you buy it. THESE are the MP3's I am speaking of.

Once you get the MP3 from the Walmart site, where on the Cingular page do you paste the URL to upload to your phone to get it to your phone for free? Or is there a different way to get these to your phone for free?

Well - I don't know what you are doing different. All I am doing is right-clicking on where it says "MP3 audio" and doing a save as. It is listed as an MP3 when I do the save as. Actually the name of the clip is just a bunch of numbers like 061172283945578.mp3.

The Walmart idea was sweet!!! I guess it would work with alot of sites (online stores) that offer free "non streaming" music samples...

when i try to save the song. my only option is wma or all files. What MP3 software do i need? Any free ones? PC Windows 2000 sp4

i did all that i had that url but when i recieve it on my phone it just says A file.txt and A song.txt they said i might need the transflash card

I was able to use vzwpix to send several .mid files two weeks ago when I first got the phone. I've tried the last couple days without success... some of the postings say that is a known vzn network problem. Ieven tried resending files that have worked before.

My last post was to help get :30 second mp3 off of Walmart site. This is cool solution... even if you decide to use a transflash.

Hopefully ntwk issue will resolve itself... if that is what issue is.

My last several attepts said successful on website... but never arrived at the phone.

How do you get these MP3's to your phone without any charges? Can you help? Someone told me to go to the Cingular site and upload it.. but I don't see where you can do that without getting charged...

My service provider is Cingular.. The phone is a Motorola V551

OK, heres what I've done so far:

1. Went to walmat.com and downloaded two songs
2. Played them on Microsoft Media Player
3. Saved then as xxx.mid making sure the files were less then 370k
4. Emailed them using both yahoo.com, and hotmail.com. However, when using yahoo.com, the email went to the phone, but the attachment did not work. When using hotmail.com, all there times the email was returned.

Any ideas?

Just go out and buy yourselfs a transflash card and you won't have to worry about converting anything.
