Ok

I'm eligible for the NE2 tomorrow, and I have been looking at this phone for awhile now. Obviously I've heard mixed reviews. I would like to get this phone, but not if it's going to suck. I don't really need the camera. It's a nice addition, but isn't going to dissuade me one way or the other. Also, for those of you with the phone, is the keypad really that bad? I went to a VZW store and on the model it felt weird, but it was something I could get used to.
I have the t730 now, and I like that phone a lot. I would like to stay with Moto, but not if this thing is a POS. Primarily, I'm buying for the speakerphone, and the fact that it's new because I'm not impressed with the other speaker phones that VZW is offering. Your feedback is gre...

I had T720 and then an Audiovox 8900. The V710 puts them all too shame. The Speakerphone is great. The keyboard is fine. The Bluetooth headset and Voice dial is AWSOME. I got the phone the first day it came out in radio shack. I have logged in 15 hours of use on the phone and love it. As I remember the Menues are much the same as t720. By the way it V710 gets better signal in the same place side by side too the 8900 and the t720

What is NE2?
I just got the phone monday and have to say i dig it so far. The keypad doesn't seem to have any problems compared to some of the rumors. Those were demo phones. The keypad was a tad strange at first since it's slick(glossy buttons) as opposed to the rubberized ones that your fingers won't slide as much with. It took about a day or so to get used to the new keypad.

DO IT!

This is exactly what i did and once i send in the $70 rebate the price on the phone will be about $165! Well worth it.

Here's the price breakdown.

$419 - ad price
-$100 - 2yr agreement
-$100 - upgrade/credit

@ $234 after tax, then on top you get:
-$70 - mail in rebate

I was looking to pick this phone up this weekend, when my NE2 period begins. How did you ensure you got all of those rebates? I can almost guarantee that if I went to the Verizon store, the employees there would tell me that I'm not eligible for any other rebates if I am using my NE2, even if I extend my contract. 😕

It's a quality phone. the camera is not that good, but if you want to use it to catch a funny moment or something it does better than no camera. I'm sure there are a few defective units, that is to be expected. I love my phone. I came from the T720 the setup is very similar and can be customized like the T720.

here's something i posted in another thread earlier today, maybe it will help you out...

people are blowing the faults of this phone WAY out of proportion...

when i first brought the phone home i was relatively happy with it, despite a few minor things, but then i went online to check out some user reviews and after reading all the negative remarks i got scared off and decided i would return the phone the next day for the vx7000...after about 30 minutes of playing with the lg at the verizon store i wasn't all that impressed and decided i would hold on to the v710 for at least a few more days longer since i did have the 15 day trial period and boy am i glad i didn't exchange the phone that day.

i love so many features this phone has...
