custom ring tones.... No looping??

I set the Austin Powers ring(actual ring tone, not the movie theme) for my phone, however when it rings the tone only plays once.
Shouldn't it loop with each ring?

when converting ringtones to .mid i try to play it after typing .mid at the end but when i try to play them in media player it doesnt work as well when i send it, it just comes up as a .txt

I think that it can only repeat itself if the file doesn't exceed a certain time length, i.e. 15 seconds or less. I've tried w/ long ringtones. I noticed the same thing, it doesn't loop.... I downloaded shorter ringtones, 8 seconds long, and it does loop...... get it??
