It should be just a TAD louder. but i guess i'll live with it.. and geez. its annoyin for the woman to hear me say NAME.... and it took me FOREVER to get her to understand Jose.. I actually had to spell it Hosay... retarded lol.. newayz.. When you leave it alone for 5 minutes, i know that the led light stops blinking. So that means its in standby mode? Which is still wasting battery correct? Also everytime i shut it off and turn it back on, i have to go thru the connection process thru the phone every time? Cuase that can get annoying. please let me know if you can. Is Jabra 250 so much better than this one?

I had the hs820 and it would link by just turning it on.

Make sure that you change the bluetooth power setting to ON and then the phone will be listening for the headset to try and connect.

I have used the 250 and the 810 as well and have settled on the 810 and so has my wife. Since this phone will only ring in the headset if the headset is on. We have found it much more convenient to open the mic to answer the phone than pressing the main headset button for several seconds each time to power it on/off.

good luck

I haven't tried the Blue Trek. IMHO the problem with picking a BT headset for this phone is that the phone doesn't ring when the headset is on. The HS810 is the only headset I've seen that turns on and off just by opening it. This makes it much more convenient to just open the headset and put it on to answer a call. Also if you want to transfer back to either the phone or speaker you just open the phone and close the mic and you are prompted to switch back. All of the other headsets I've looked at need you to hold a button down for several seconds to turn it on and off.

If you have the option you may want to buy the different headsets and try them if you don't like them return them. That is what I did until we (my wife and I) found...

yes, I discovered phonetic spelling in my directory..my friend Seymour is Seemore...

YOu don't have to go thru the pairing every time. If you default the POWER in the PHONE Blluetooth menu to on...all you do is hold the button on the 820 a acouple seconds and they link up.

I am told that the phone is using very little extra power to emitt the blue tooth signal.

THe directions for both the 820 and phone were horribly confusing and it took me a lot of trial and error and searching Howard Forums for good info

I happen to like the HS. fits well, I can still hear my radio when I'm wearing it.
I hate the flashing blue light, which eventually turns itself off, even though the HS is still on.

Hmmm...I've had pretty good luck with the name recognition. I have a friend who's last name is Boisjolie ( pronounced Bo-jsh-lay ) and it get's it fine. Now, mind you, the synthetic voice repeated back butchers it, but It still get's the right number.
