HS820 Habits - What do you do?

I only use my HS820 in my car. I leave it my car at all times.

First, I tried leaving it on even when I get out of my car, but the interior of my house is close enough to the car that the bluetooth connection remains and I miss phone calls.

Next, I created a short cut on my V710 to simplify executing the "DROP" command. This seemed to work okay, but even with the nifty 710 short cut, it's still a hassle to do the DROP every time I exit my car.

Now, I've decided to just turn the HS820 off when I leave the car and turn it back on (and wear it) when I get in the car.

I wish there was a way to make allow the 710 to ring while bluetooth connected, 'cause I'd like to keep my headset at arms length instead of always wearing it when it's...

I'm trying to get used it turning it off after every phone call and turning it back on when receiving a call. but it takes between 5-10 seconds for the phone to connect to it. THAT IS WAY TOO MUCH TIME.. geez.. I would like to have it on for the whole day which for me is about a 15 hour day.. That is too much for the HS820 right? Man what do I do. cause if i leave it on standby throughout the day plus talking sometimes.. it will die fast. HELP

In response to the following:

"I wish there was a way to make allow the 710 to ring while bluetooth connected, 'cause I'd like to keep my headset at arms length instead of always wearing it when it's on."

Hold down the multifunction key on the headset for three seconds to delink it with the phone. This will allow the v710 to ring. When a call comes through on the phone, just hold down the multifunction key on the headset another three seconds to reactivate the link with the phone.

I got the HS810 because I liked the boom mic and general comfort. I think the hs820 is too small. With my HS810, I can clip it to the overhead visor thing when the boom is closed. Then, When recieveing the call, I open the boom and put it on. The call is automatically connected. Not a bad headset, but I wouldn't suggest Auto-Answer, because the 2 rings with Auto-Answer is from the point of the headset being connected, not when the call starts to ring.
