HELP my Motorola V710 NOT RECOGNIZED by Mobile Phone Tools! I have the cable and the newest version of mobile phone tools. My brother has the same phone as me and his will connect to my computer with my cable with no problem, but mine does nothing when connected. Can you give me any advice as to how to get this to work? Is this a known problem?

I did use the search but see nothing referring to this specific problem. I have my phone tools updated to the newest update. Can you refer me to the post you are reffering to?

The thread that scarpatch13 refers to indicates that some people got it working with the Motorola brand cable, some didn't.
I'm one of those that didn't. I have Motorola brand cable, version 2.21f of the software. Still no luck. It just says initializing.

I even followed the Mobile Phone Tools connectivity troubleshooting tips at http://commerce.motorola.com/consumer/QWhtml/ faq.html

Has anyone been stuck at this same point, then corrected it somehow?

I had the same problem - and I called Motorola.

Apparently, the issue is with the software on the phone. A fix has been developed by Motorola and released to Verizon. Verizon has yet to release it, presumably doing some testing.

It will be released to the Verizon stores, as was confirmed when i called my local Verzion wireless store here in NJ. I had heard at a different version store that it would be an over the air upgrade. So the distribution method is not clear, at least to me.

It supposed to fix the sporadic "not found" problem and the more wide spread problem of synching with the phone and Outlook.

Sorry its not better news.
