Here's a new topic .. the V710 GPS feature: I set the phone (settings, location) to GPS location on (instead of just for 911). When I go in to test mode there is a GPS screen ... I select start gps session & it displays "error" and a list of blank info... go to the satellite display and it shows zero.

How do you get into the test mode? I don't see that option...

To use GPS, you must be outdoors in clear view of the sky. If you're trying indoors or in a car it likely won't work.

aGPS (or assisted GPS) relies on the tower to do some of the processing required to determine the phones location. Without support from the tower, the phone cannot determine its location.

Under the programming menu (same menu that you enabled test mode) there was a page to configure the GPS configuration (not sure the exact location and I don't feel like getting my phone to double check). This let you specify a PDC (?) server. On my phone, the IP address was blank. This leads me to believe that it is probably not currently supported for non-911 calls.

Just dreaming now but if you could put the IP of your Bluetooth laptop in that slot might not you have some kind of Bluetooth GPS?
P.S.
I'm still looking for the secert coffee pot in that phone. It's got to be there somewhere 😉
