This has been discussed a hundred times, use the search feature! But since you are lazy, from the main screen, hit menu, 6, 3, select the song (highlight it), press menu and select apply as ringtone.

ok,hypnotized. i guess i'm still an idiot. i changed 1 of my mp3's on my phones memory to a ringtone,it worked and i thought i was home free.so i tried to move one of my mp3's from my tf to my phones memory and it says insufficient memory.i have 3458kb free on my phones memory. whats up??? 🤭

It might need more memory to copy because of over head or whatever. Go download Nero and you can Encode the mp3 to a lower bitrate (96/44000hz) and make you're mp3 1/2 the size. This should allow you to put it on your phone.
Or, with Nero comes Nero Wave Editor. You can open your mp3, select like 30secs and save this as a different file to use as a ringer which will cut your mp3 size by approx 1/4-1/6
