I thought that if you change a file from .mp3 to .mid.. it should reduce its size too?? why not?

How come if you d/l a midi file.. its sooo small... but yet if you convert a file from mp3 to midi.. it stays teh same size.. is there maybe a program out there that you can open an mp3 and then save is as midi? That would be great.. to put even MOREEEEE ringers on tcard....

You're not actually changing the format, you're just changing the file extension. You can send midi's but not mp3's to the phone, so it's just a way to fool the system. The phone is playing it as an mp3, not a midi (it evendently can't associate file extensions)
