Call Waiting and earpiece

I have call waiting service and use the 810 earpiece. When I get a call while I am already on another call and I tap the earpiece, I not only cannot access the new incoming call but I end up losing my original call. Am I doing something wrong?

I would like to know cause I have the same problem. I cannot pick up the other call and when I press the earpiece button I lose the other caller.

I got through to tech support a while ago. They said you cannot use call waiting with the earpiece. You must use the phone itself and hit the send key as you normally would if you weren't using the earpiece and had an incoming call. I told him to add this feature to the long list of fixes the phone needed.

Strange, I think I've been using call waiting with my HS820 for a while now... No problems.

I just broke out the um..... the ahhhh.... the manual, yeah thats it... the maunual for the 810. It says to do a "long press". I guess that means press and hold for a second or two. It says to do it again to switch between calls. 😁

Yes, I know. I, too, read the..um..manual, but it didn't work for me. I tried long holds and short holds. That's why I asked if I was doing something wrong. Interesting, though, tech support said it wasn't supposed to be able to switch calls. So much for Moto tech.

How long is your press, so to speak. I thought I pressed mine long, but maybe it's not long enough.
