Of course, it also means the user must use billable network traffic to transfer any data to/from the handset.

It's not fraud prevention, its loss of revenue or just plain greed!

Is it true that you can't transfer multimedia with the USB cable? Does that mean the only way to currently do so is with a flash card reader? Thanks.

correct the only ways to get media on and off the phone is transflash and vzwpix.com picture messaging/e-mail.

Once Bluetooth is fixed, I am assuming multimedia transfer will be possible with Mobile Phone Tools. Should I wait or should I buy the TF reader? If I eventually have both, will the TF reader be a faster way to transfer the multimedia or will it be virtually useless? Thanks.

Not necessarily. A HoFo post recently noted that while the firmware update is supposed to enable syncing via Bluetooth, MPT's MMC (Multimedia center) is still supposed to be unavailable at the request of Verizon. Then again, another poster mentioned that a Motorola tech, when asked if Verizon was limiting the bluetooth features of the phone, said "no, not at all" or something like that. I'm not sure if the PC Mag author got the info direct from Verizon of if it was based on rumor. The fact that they called it "fraud-prevention" - an excuse I haven't read anywhere before - leads me to believe the a...
