Why So Difficult?
I'm no techie. I just wanted to use the phone as a modem for a mac, but the manual doesn't give any help. I've tried to search this group and other links for instructions and/or info about the workability of this function. Such a glut of confusion out there! Why doesn't/can't Verizon just come through and lay out a clear and simple path to getting online? This could go for a number of other functions. I don't understand why it needs to be such a tooth-pulling affair. Those at the VZ stores know nothing about nothing! They even seem proud to be so in the dark. I heard a VZ guy joking about it today in fact. 😳

Amazing isn't it? (that they don't do exactly what you state).
it's not like we are asking for the world here...just HOW to do some of the simple things that they advertized.
