I had been Motorola all the way until last year when I got the LG VX6000. I remember at the time saying ... wow this is so much better than Motorola. Since they I seem to have forgotten what was so bad about my Motorola v60i, and I am considering the V710.

I went to a Verizon store yesterday and played around with the demo they had. I have to say I was revisited with a number of Motorola legacy problems that have me doubting the phone. 🙄

Before I even started playing I did a full reset on the phone settings and powered it off and on. I could not do a battery yank with the security cord though.

The phone periodically lost signal completely, going from full signal to network not found at least 3 times in the 20 min I was th...

That's the only way to do it. Buy it and try it for 14days and if you want exchange it for a different model on the 15th day. as far as i know:

*Will my AC and car adapters from my old V60 work on the V710? From the pictures it looks like the same plug?

NO, well that's what the sales associate told me. Its a different voltage?

*Will my USB sync cable from my V60 work on this phone? I know I need newer software.

Can not say. someone else will chime in on this...

*I heard a rumor that the V710 uses the same battery from the V60 ... is that true??

I do not think so but...

*Will my Jabra FreeSpeak BT200 work with the V710? The model I have was for non-bluetooth phones, but the instructions say if you upgrade to a bluetoo...

Mule muffins. Works great. Some people say some chargers cause the display to stay on, but I haven't had that experience yet and I've used a lot of random motorola chargers that I've accumulated over the years.

Yes, as long as it's a Motorola or equiv. and not futuredial.

so what is the difference between the 200 and 250?

i got the bt200 as a xmas gift two years ago with my T720. i never thought that the 200 could pair with my v710. dummy me. i should have known better. but the cradle for my bt200 is trashed. when i try to put the 200 back in the cradle it will not charge unless i hold it in place! the metal prongs must have bent out of shape or something. the thing barely stays put.

i tried the HS810 but the thing would not stay on my ear. I like it but it just did not work for my ear. The Jabra works for me but i'm thinking i should just return the 250 and stick with my 200 - but i'd have to figure out how to get the charger working again.

For the HS810, try pulling out the rubber piece around the earpiece. Someone said that made it fit better for them; I think it depends on the person.

The BT200 is an older model than the 250, of course - I think lower battery life, might be heavier - there are other diff's but I don't recall them all. I hate that design personally - almost impossible for me to get it on and off with one hand (and it hurts). Granted it may stay on better, but I always found that with my HS800 I could press the ear clip against my ear a bit (squeezing it slightly) and the whole thing would hug a bit better.

You can take apart the base unit of the 200 pretty easily with a small philips screwdriver. You may be able to get to the pins and get them back into...

maybe i should just exchange the 250 for the HS810 so i'll have both Jabra and Moto headsets 😛 The only reason why i like the Jabra more is it fits my ear and I can hear it clearly.

I do really like the design of the 810 and how compact the thing is (folding boom - cool looking) but again when I did buy it last week I could not get the thing on my ear very well. I literally only had it for about 10 mins. before i exchanged it for the 250. maybe i should have given it a chance 🙄

NOPE, maybe there is something wrong with the BT with the v710 because i just tried pairing my old BT200 (non BT) with it and it can not find it. It doesn't work!? I know you said it should but its not working.

So I guess I am stuck with the 250 afterall 😁 no biggie but its weird that it can't find it...

Nope it was you. Did you set the Jabra into Pairing mode? I think you hold down the power button on the headset for 7 seconds. the blue LED should come on and stay on.

That puts the Jabra into pairing mode. Then you go to Settings, Connection, Bluetooth Link, ... and your V710 will find the Jabra headset. The default PIN for pairing with the Jabra is 0000

Worked great with my Jabra BT200.
