I am going to sue verizon, they gave me a used phone...

i bought the v710 on aug 11th but i scratched it, so yesterday i went back and gave them so bs excuse about how the phone turns off and stuff lol and they believed me and so they gave me a new v710

only problem is this, its ****** used!!!! im not stupid, the phone is ****** used...number 1, there is a big squeak when you open it which almost caused me to go back and get me original phone back because its so damn annoying...number 2, the rubber that covers the tf slot and headphone slot is all wrinkled and bent which means its been opened and used before...number 3, the plastic that covers the screen was not on it, and the plastic they had on the outside had all air bubbles on it, which means it was taken off and then verizon attempted to ...

Good luck on the suing part. 🤣

As for the battery, mine came fully charged too. I thought it would have been dead, but nope. Mine was brand effin new because i unwrapped all of factory packaging.

they didnt even give me a box with mine...the guy went in the back and came out with a v710 with no safety plastic on it, trasnfered my phone book and stuff, and that was it...he just handed it to me and said "youre good, you can go"

it is probly the damn showcase model

oh and did i mention the keypad backlighting is purple??? yes purple im not joking, i wish i could take a pic of it and show you...my old one was white and now this is the same color as a purple neon light...it makes me sick, this ****** v710 is a piece of **** id give anything to have my old one back...wat can i do?

if you just exchanged it within the past day or two take it back and ask them to get one from a box so that you can compare the differences. If the light truely is purple, that's pretty obvious that that it's been altered after it left the factory.

If it's been a week or so, you're probably stuck with it.

Maybe you should learn a lesson about taking things back when you damage them yourself. Thats one of the reasons things cost so much. Can you say retail fraud? I hope you have learned a valuable lesson. Chinese proverb. If you screw someone maybe you get 10 times screwin back.

Let me educate you on how vzw miseducates its customers. When something happens to your phone and you give it to vzw to fix, if they deem it to be faulty they give you a brand new phone....or so they tell you. what they really give you is a refurbished phone they they have sent to the manufacturer to fix. these phones are what the call "fru" or field replacement units. and these "fru" phones arent always fixed like they tell you either. the techs in the store never want to tell you this and when you mention the word fru they try to hush you up and they quiz you on how much you know and where did you get your info.

Haven't you ever heard of caveat emptor?? Check the phone before you leave the store, make sure everything is up to par, if not ask for another phone.

You can by toilet paper, but you can't expect the store clerk to wipe your a$$ too..

to the average customer with no phone tech knowledge they think they are getting a new phone because THAT'S WHAT VZW TELLS THEM. they don't even want to explain what fru really is and will not mention the word if they don't have to.

i agree. otherwise vzw or any company for that matter will give you anything because the average customer is very trusting. to then new means new. for all you readers out there...when vzw tells you new make sure you ask them is it NEW or is it FRU!!!

vzw policy is that when the 15 days are up and there is something wrong with the phone it goes into your vzw warranty. that means they try to fix it themselves and if they can't they give you a fru phone. if you have continuous problems and they swap your phone or fru it out 3x within 3 months they have to give you a new phone out of the box. or you could try to complain to the manager seeing as it not much past your 15 days. tell him that your unhappy and this phone is worse than your new one. tell them they told you you were getting a new phone and this is obviously not new. make a lot o noise and see what happens.

Complain to mom or dad and maybe if they have some wisdom they will grab you by your hair and drag you down to the store to admit what you did and apologize.

Karma for the misrepresentation. The free exchange is witha refurbished phone. That being said the refurbished phone should be consistant with MOTO standards and not broken or in need of repair. Refurbished is used but it all necessary repairs should have been done.

I would escalate the issue and learn your Karma lesson.

just write a letter to the wallingford, ct address, you will hear from a "manager" and they will work it out with you. but there should be no problem with getting a new in the box "fresh" phone.

man, the sales guy at vzw was right - this is the most exchanged phone they have ever seen. And trust me they know its because of cosmetic reasons and not technical there is already a notice going around the stores explaining.

i'm glad i never had to exchange mine because i'm sure within a month or so the ones that are getting exchanged will be back in the stores referbed...

This idiot does not deserve a new OR refurbished phone because HE scratched it himself and ADMITTED that he was SCAMMING VZW Retail. This guy is an idiot and deserves NOTHING! If I knew who he was, I would report him to VZW! 👿

Why should they give you a new one when you scratched yours? you got a refurbished phone, and that why it's got a purple keypad. When my T720 was stolen, I got a refurbished one from Asurion, (lockline insurance company) anyway this phone had a greenish/blueish keypad, instead of a white one, anyone who's had a T720 for more than a year may have a refurbished one and can back me up on this.

Let me see if I got this right...

a) You went in to the VZW Store to scam them out of a new phone because you scratched yours

b) You are now pissed because they gave you a "used" phone

c) You are now going to sue VZW because they did not fall for your admitted scam

Please do all of us a favor and take yourself out of the gene pool... NOW!

Let me get this straight - YOU screw up and damage your first phone - take it back to verizon - lie to them about why you are returning it - make up a story that it turns on and off - and now you're whining because you got a used phone?
