Does anyone know the outgoing email server that we should use when connecting your laptop to Verizons packet data internet?

this dialup networking is awesome.

I don't know what I will be billed for it though!!! I never signed up for it but it works like a charm.

Just out of curiousity -- why would you need a mail server address to use quick2net or express network? To login to express network, you would use (Your Mobile Telephone #)@vzw3g.com .

I'm not sure if thats what you mean.

Most ISPs will not let you send mail thru their POP or SMTP servers unless you are connected to their network. At home I use Cablevisions Optonline so me outgoing mail server is mail.optonline.net. when I am connected with my laptop to verizon's data service i can't send mail thru the optonline servers. I need to know what Verizon's server is so I can add it to my outgoing servers in my mail program on my laptop.

I'm going to take a guess and assume that its mail.vzw3g.com. I will let you know if this works.

I saw a post about this an it said to use smtp.vzwmail.net with your username and password from the www.vtxt.com site.

So far this has worked for me. I'm not sure how it all gets billed though.

Let me know if the mail.vzw3g.com works also.

Thanks!

Dude, I have optimum online too, in the NJ area. I can send and recieve email fine using VZW's Express Network (With outlook express). It's just like being connected to the internet. You don't need to change your mail server. If you still find troubles, just use webmail. (webmail.optonine.net).
