GPS for V710???
IOW, no you can't use this phone to determine your own location. I don't understand GPS, and why this info can't be looped back to your own phone..maybe someone else can explain.

Where as a real GPS system can locate you down to a matter of 10 feet ... the aGPS system is more like "somewhere in this 2 sq mile area"
It triangulates your position based on your signal strength to the tower(s). It does NOT read your location from the numerous GPS satellites orbiting the planet.
It is/will be used for Emergency 911 services ... so your carrier could pinpoint your approximate location in the event of an emergency
and it may also be used for future location based services ... for example you can go onto Mobile Web and it would automatically know to which movie theater you were closest to when you go to Hollywood.com for movie times.
