Motorola Bluetooth Experience

😡 I just subscribed to Verizon and purchased a V710. I also upgraded my T-Mobile phone from a SonyEricsson T68i to a Moto V600.

Motorola has a lot to learn about bluetooth. The V710 is limited to the headset and handsfree profiles. The V600 has OBEX, but does a lousy job at implementation. I have a Toyota Prius, and the V600 can only transfer one phone number at a time. The V710 cannot transfer anything. The V600 also does not include data account profiles like SonyEricsson.

Upside of Motorola - reception. Both phones do a good job.

Hopefully Motorola will come out with some much needed software updates for their phones.

yeah but Verizon holds the "plug" on OBEX and they seem to refuse to put it back in the socket over "security" concerns...

IMHO anybody who doesn't lockdown bluetooth on their phone deserves to get it rooted/tampered with, just like PCs, "don't firewall or virus check, its your data and your problem... get a clue so the rest of us can actually use our phones the way we want and not have to suffer just cause granny(who shouldn't own a v710 anyway) doesn't know wha tthe hell bluetooth is..."

That is not true. There is also a dialup networking profile that allows the V710 to be used as a modem for a PDA or PC via bluetooth.
