CMOS image sensors are not nessesarily bad. Kodak's latest 14.5MP pro digital SLR camera uses a CMOS chip. So CMOS has advantages. I haven't done much research, but just though it was interesting fact. So there may be some hope for the camera in the firmware.

wat does that have to do with the camera being included in the firmware update. by the way i just got off the phone with motorola and verizon they said that there is no way to include the camera in the firmware update because the camera is part of the phone's hardware not software so there is no way for any thing too be changed.

to my understanding, cmos is for low power consumption, nothing to do with picture quality. sdeep is right, its a hardware, not a software or firmware that will affect the qaulity of the pictures. 😳
