Itunes Conversion Problem
I am following the instruction on how to shorten a song using itunes for use as a ringtone. The problem that I am having is that the songs that I am buying on Itunes are coming in as a MPEG-4 Audio File (Protected). The Itunes program won't let me "convert to MP3" after I adjust the start and stop times. Any ideas?

No ideas. However I don't understand this concept because your still paying for songs which really defeats the purpose of free ringtones and MP3 on the phone buy whatever its your money.

I have been using the Walmart site but everything is censored. Is there another site that you recommend instead of buying them from Itunes which doesn't work?
...
Yeah I used the Walmart site at first just on a trial basis but I couldn't stand the censored safe for family BS they try to do. I just use my own MP3s that I have on my computer and I also just use iTunes to rip songs I already have on CD. If your having trouble finding MP3s online go to download.com and search for a program called Ares Lite. This is probably the best program for MP3s now a days. Kazaa Lite used to be the best but everything that is good has to get ruined by jews and the fact that they always need money. There still hasn't been anything on par with the original Napster. Solution that I used - kind of a long process but it WORKS!
1. Put all the songs I wanted (aac protected) into playlist in iTunes > burn the songs onto CD > reimport into mp3 format.
2. Using Quicktime Pro I edit the song to thirty second clips > export the song as an mp4 > open the song with iTunes (brings it into the library as an mp4) > convert the song to mp3
3. Mail the shortened mp3 using the vzwpix.com website.
I now have the transflash card and will soon get a USB reader so that I can just put whole songs onto my phone rather than just shortened mp3s.

All of the major "legal" download stores have there music copy protected by drm schemes and won't let you convert them to unprotected formats like mp3. However there is a new program you can get that will strip the drm wrapper from itunes music store files. Go to http://www.ifreesoft.com/ and grab a copy of ifree. This will convert the protected itms files to standard unprotected files. It backs up the original protected files and strips the drm from the copy. Once you convert it, go to itunes preferences->importing and change to import using Mp3 encoder. Now when you right click on the song in your library it will allow you to convert to mp3. Once you do this follow the previous instructions for creating ringtones.
