Motorola V710
V710 Banner...
Hi--I have noticed that sometimes when I open my V710 phone the banner says "VERIZON WIRELESS" and then it will switch to my name (which I entered in the settings)
Yet other times it just has my name (I don't think it switches to "Verizon Wireless")
Does anyone know why the phone does this?

Crazy huh. I hate the fact that the time disappears when you open and when you make a call the time disappears from the main screen as well. It's the only phone I know of that there's no time displayed when you make a call.

you mean the timer or time? cause i knwo you can put the timer so you can see how long you are on teh phone. But the time does come off. a lot of phones dont show the time when you are on a call.but the outside display should stay with the time instead of saying stupid verizon wireless

I'm tired of asking the person on the phone what time it is. Like, "Hey I'll meet you at... Crap, what time do you have?"
I'd rather they had dumped the date and had the time displayed instead of keeping the date displayed and not the time.

It appears that it takes about 30 seconds from when you flip open the phone until it switches to what you want in the banner.
Why, why, why, I ask does it do this? Can I adjust? (I do not want the phrase "Verizon Wireless" there, I WANT MY NAME THERE!!)

There wasn't enough room on the screen to display both so they toggled between the two.
Verizon "required" Verizon Wireless to be displayed whenever you were on the digital or extended network. It was to disappear once you roamed off the verizon network onto some partner's network. Along with lighting up the triangle.
With all the realestate available on this screen there is no justification for the swapping.
Secondly when verizon wireless shows up on the screen there are a total of 5 places on the phone that say verizon wireless.
I would say Verizon is a bit full of itself.
The stupid thing should show time of day and elapsed call time while on a call. Again with so much realestate th...
