Motorola V710
Gotta love the Verizon Store employees....
Called the nearest VStore near my home...no one bothered to pick the phone up for the entire day. Left voicemail like instructed. No return call.
Called the nearest VStore near my office...they told me no techs at that store so I'd have to call one of three other stores in the area.
Called the second nearest VStore near my office...Had to call at least 10 times to get a person. Guy sent me nowhere as the tech was at lunch but he never bothered to check so the phone just rang. Called back several times and each time the guy simply HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME, most of the time while I was speaking! F...

I went to the Verizon store "in-person" and they were "less than courteous" regarding the V710. Stated "the phone is fine, no problems... Bluetooth was never supposed to be able to transfer files for Verizon's version of the V710", etc., etc. Lame excuses is all I got from the less than knowledgable salespeople.
Verizon seems to be "very" defensive regarding this product... No wonder, 476 pages of complaints & questions on how to use a cell phone?!?!? WTF?!? Gotta be the worst cell phone product launch of all time...
Shame on Verizon & Motorola both... 😡
I went to another Verizon store and they had a greeter who took my name and I was helped about five minutes later. The guy that helped me was very honest about the limitations of the Bluetooth and said it was a way for VZW to make more money. I appreciated that. He also told me to wait a week as he thought that the $70 rebate would end and that the price could change. Obviously that didn't happen but should I get the 710, I will go back and get it from him. It's worth the extra driving distance to me.

Here are some other phones that you might want to consider if you are willing to wait a bit:
Nokia 6255i - a bluetooth phone with even more features than the V710, should be out by the end of the year for Sprint, sometime at the beginning of next year for Verizon... A huge amount of features distinguish this phone from all others, including IR port, USB port, bluetooth, camera, voice dialing, expansion card slot, etc.

Panasonic X700 - one of only two *Smart* bluetooth clamshell phones. It has lots of features. It's also a GSM phone, meaning it will ...

While the firmware updates may not alleviate all of the functions that Verizon has disabled, I'd like to still wait to see what it does. Probably the main one I want fixed is the speakerphone with the phone closed and a louder earpiece volume. I don't think I'd ever use Bluetooth to transfer files etc.
Hey one other question for you all, have you ever notic...

I live about 30 minutes east of Seattle and I'm a big Univ. of Washington football fan. We're going to suck this year but such is life. I support my 'Dawgs no matter what.
I'm off to the game in a few hours. What is your Husky team?
I agree with a lot of people on here about how the quality of the customer service has changed. I go back almost 12 years and two companies with Verizon--AirTouch and US West Cellular. Back in the day because I was a loyal customer, I would get bumped to the front of the line if I called in for help. Little things like that were nice. I wouldn't be hassled if I asked for airtime credits. Seems like I have to plead a little more these days if I want a credit.

We are paying for the success of Verizon....They have successfully dominated the competition/ they are becoming like the old ATT which old guys like me remember ATT owned all the phone companies, and the phones and gave horrible service. When Sprint, MCI, etc came in, they had to improve.
I've dealt w/three Verizon stores since getting this V710 and the help was all curt and ignorant. All Verizon can offer is the best coverage in the nation, which is why I use them and why I bought this phone
BTW, it's also why I'm a shareholder....
