What is Verizon up to?

I contacted Motorola to find out if the Bluetooth problems had been fixed with this phone yet. Here is the response I got...

Dear Me, 😁

Thank you for your recent correspondence with Motorola.

We really appreciate your interest in our brand and our products.

Regarding your inquiry, the reason why the V710 has not been able to provide Bluetooth connectivity is due to the fact that Verizon had the necessary phone profile removed from the phones. Motorola is currently working on a solution to this, which will be available later on this year. Then, our V710 customers will be able to enjoy the full features of this model.

I hope this information has been of your help. I remain at your entire disposal for any further questions yo...

What I really want to know is....Is this the truth. Because other sources have quoted Verizon as saying they have no plan at this time to add the remaining Bluetooth functions(OBEX). Who is telling the truth?

That's the story I got also. Verizon has "NO" plans to alter the phone because it is fine and they don't want you to be able to transfer files via bluetooth...

F*ck Verizon...!!! 😡 Real reason is probably to charge you money for Get It Now services... I hope the greedy bastards at Verizon lose a lot of customers over this... 👿

it's removed to stop blue jacking. where hakers use bluetooth to break into the phone. I least thats what verizon says. one of my theories is that it might allow access to parts of the phone that verizon dosen't want you to be in. like Get it now.

But don't you have to grant access before someone can connect to your device?

Make a damn password for the owner of the phone so when they try they put in the password and others cant get in, easy as that. A 4 or 6 digit password would solve this problem.

I thought bluejacking required the device to remain in discoverable mode.
