This question simply cannot be asked. I myself asked it a few weeks ago and found somewhat disappointed by people's answers. They fit your ear differently, have a slightly different type of sound, and have their own unique designs. It's not a matter of "which is better" per say; they're both pretty good. The issue is with yourself. Do I like the way one fits over the other? Will the mic hear MY voice? Do I want better battery life, or sleeker design? You must ask yourself these and many other questions when purchasing either one of these headsets. For you, I would not suggest purchasing it online, unless you have gone to a store and personally tried on the two models you consider purchasing.

But you can! Use them both, determine for yourself which is better. Opinions are someone else's useless though. If you want a good product that you will like, you need to test all properties and make your own judgement.

I have them both ... I like them both. Do you want to fold out the boom to activate it, or hold a button for 3 seconds? I haven't had to worry about battery issues with either. They both are equally good. Go with your personal preference.

I think this is such a simple question to answer as individuals. Buy the 810 and try it. If you like it, keep it. If you don't, return the 810, but the 820 and try it. If you like it more than the 810, keep it. If not, repurchase the 810 and be done with the discussion. If you own a V710 then buying and testing the BT headsets should not be an issue, financially speaking. It REALLY does boil down to personal preferences - not specs.
