Reasons to wait to buy?

I was thinking of waiting for a couple of weeks, but not past the Oct. 11 deadline for the manufacturers rebate, to buy the phone. I just was thinking that there would be some manufacturing quirks to work out, but I dont want to wait too long. I'm not thinking that there will be a firmware update or anything, but ....

Does this sound like a good strategy?

(I just hope that if they do update the phone, it won't be the v710a or something and the early buyers are stuck in the cold. C'mon with that OBEX!!!)

No software fixes out until Nov/Dec. So you might as well get it today. Anyway, if you don't like it you can always return it in the first 15 days.

Personally, I believe there are also significant hardware issues with this phone that the software flash can't address. So, they will sooner rather than later release a 710a or 711 or perhaps just do a significant silent upgrade and keep the 710 name.

In either case, the early buyers will be stuck with the Rev A version of this hardware. Very similar to what happens in the PC and Mac world when new hardware is introduced - revised versions appear several months later and early buyers are pissed off. C'est la vie!
