I just hung up with vzw data support, and have achieved successful dun on vzw's (slow but it works) 14.4 connection. Settings are as follows:

On the v710:
Select menu, then enter: 073887* to enter the programming menu. Enter password 000000. Go to data rates and change rate to 14.4/14.4. Select "back", then "exit"

On the T3: Pair the two devices, then:
Preferences->Connection->Custom->Edit
Connect to: Modem
Via: Bluetooth
Device: select your phone.
Dialing: Touch tone
Volume: low
Then select details:
Speed: 9,600 bps
Flow Ctl: On
Init String: (leave blank)
Then OK, OK, and Done.
Then Preferences->Network->New
Name it whatever..."Painfully slow DUN" works
User Name: qnc
Password: qnc
Connection: Custom
Phone: #777

I dunno why it was that hard. I have a Zire 72, had it up and running in like 2 mins. It is fast too, but I ise the 3g network.

Configuring it for 14.4 dial up...free, only counts agains minutes...was giving me fits. Getting connected to the 3g network (at least from what I'm reading, I'm not a paying subscriber) is easier...I assume because the data transfer settings on the phone are set for higher speeds than 14.4. The "qnc" dial up is slow but adequate to check email, news, movies, etc.
