MPT connection problems -please help

I bought the Verizon phone software which came with a USB cable which I successfully used to connect with both the Verizon and MPT 2.21 products. I returned the Verizon software and cable because I thought MPT offered more features and got a cable on ebay but am having trouble connecting. The MPT software doesn't find the phone even if redirected to do so. The computer and cable look OK since the new cable works with the Verizon product. I would chalk the whole think up to specific V710 incompatibility but I know I got it to work once. Any others with similar problems?

I never did get it to work. Let me know if you have any success. I bought my MPT and MOTO usb cable on ebay also.

I went into Windows Device Manager and saw the phone as an available modem which went away when I disconnected the phone so I know that the phone is seen so this must be just one more glitch with the phone and MPT software

My problems were solved after multiple installs of software by removing from Hardware the profile for the modem (remove the modem- uninstall) and rebooting and plugging the usb cable in again and letting the software reinstall the modem.I think the modem install is the key.
