just went in to see if B.Buy had by chance gotten a new batch of phones with the updated firmware in.
And..... was told point blank by the sales guy that they had just packed all of these up and sent them back but did expect to receive an updated version "sometime" in the future.
I guess those a$$ munching dipsticks that posted here that there was no problem with the volume and that people's hearing must just be bad might have been a bit WRONG.
anyway, I am just irritated that Cingular and Moto let the phones go so far and are yanking them back now. So much for Cingular's "we test all phones extensively with at least 600 users before they go to market" BS. Bite me Cingular and Moto. Fix your phone and it will be a great one. ple...

You know--this volume problem of moto's is VERY subjective for this phone--while I agree that the volume is lower than other phones--I most certainly am not an a** muching dipstick as you so put it because I CAN hear out of my phone! I understand if you are irritated at Cingular/Moto, but calling people a** munching dipsticks is quite offensive!!
...
i guess if the shoe or stick fits...
I wasn't necessarily referring to you. If you can hear on your phone then great. I was referring those "folks" that flamed us poor souls who had bought the phone and then started pouring in here with questions about the volume and other performance-r elated issues. The tone of many of those posts was very hostile and really just said our hearing must be bad.
So, if you didn't come off like a Moto or Cingular company joe/joanne touting the company line on this WONDERFUL phone then you shouldn't be offended.
I do still have a problem with the condescending attitude that SOME of the Cingular employees who post here take when defending their products. Blind faith is a really frightening thing. ...

No prob on the corrosive post--to help you on the latest, if you haven't heard lately--Cingular is replacing the latest f/w .342 with f/w 1.30--I get mine on Friday--from my understanding--the volume issue has been FIXED entirely. The camera issues have been improved (subjective I believe) and the BT issues with the voice connect (not voice dial) and camera have been resolved--from my understanding, moto and cingular are working on the BT issue of having no voice dial--wouldn't that be nice? I have been one of the few that have stuck with this phone through its many shortcomings, knowing that moto would hopefully come out with a f/w update--low and behold, they have; twice. So let's see on this one--I would love it if the reception issue ...

How does a person go about getting the latest firmware update? Is it possible to get it online or do you need to phone in? I know I'm being purely subjective but I think the ring volume is entirely too low. (This phone could learn a lesson in ring volume from my old Samsung SGH-X426) I work in a manufacturing environment that requires maximum volume so this matter is vitally important. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

we just called bb today and they are getting more mpx220's in, as they sold all the orange sticker phones.
We have 14 days to return it, but they don't know if they are getting the black sticker phones in prior to 14 days. What do we do to get the new 1.30? (how do you know if the orange sticker phones are the .342's)?
Did you get your answer yet?
...
No one has answered yet. BTW - I didn't know that the "orange sticker" phones had issues. Do the black sticker phones indicate more that simple firmware versions?
...
the orange sticker had problems with the camera having bluetooth interference and interm. hearing issues from earpiece, i also had a def travel charger that was included with the phone. would like to know when the phones will have an upgrade with black sticker. moto is going to run out of colors by mid january. 🤣 🤣

too funny.
What is the bluetooth earpiece model no. that works with the mpx220 and where did you buy it? how much? cingular is advertising one for $29 after the $20 rebate, but not sure it works with this phone.
Thanks

If you plug in M2500 in an all products search at amazon.com you'll bring up a low price of $37.99 for this headset. Plantronics co-brands it for Cingular. I like the phone controls it offers because they are specific to the MPX220 but also work for other non-Motorola models. In Arizona Cingular stores it retails for $49.99, and no, I don't work for Cingular; it's just an observation from walking through the store.
