Just recieved my new MPX220 two days ago from Best Buy, I waited until they had the new revised rom update and yes it was unlocked as stated. You want to make sure there is a orange dot on the outside of the box to make sure you have the latest version of the phone.

I had several of the 220's that were "buggy" and kept exchanging then waited for the infamous orange dot boxes. I got one a couple of days ago and have to say I don't hear any difference in volume.... literally none.
I thought I might be wrong or my hearing off so I had a sound engineer friend hook my phone up to some test equipment that validates real sound/volume output and there was literally NO difference between the original phone and the new version with updated firmware.
I am not trying to upset anyone I am just reporting my findings. I am really bummed because I love that MPX and was so excited when I got the "new" version. what a disappointment.

on the new firmware are you able to fix the problem with contacts not being able to transfer from sim tophone or the problem with the camera and squiggly lines.

Hmmm.... just tried and NO. I do know of the problems of which you speak. Also, take a look at a post on HOFO..... last thread on the MPX220 BB recall. very depressing 😢

First one had volume issues, camera issues. Some say the updated ones have fixed the issues, some say they have not. YMMV
