Cingular Xpress Mail - Email on the road

This post relates to trying to get corporate email on the road. That is also primarily why I bought this phone. When I try to get Express Mail on the phone's home page, it says "Coming soon". The people at Cingular can not tell me what "Coming soon" means. They also tell me that the Blackberry's and Treo's use Xpress Mail to get email on the road and eventually the mpx 220 will have this feature. There may be other ways, but apparently this is the intended way for this phone to operate. I know that we can sync our phones with our inbox with Active Sync but that is not all I wanted to do.

You can set up Xpress mail at the following URL:
https://xpressmailpe.cingular.com »

At the end of the setup process, there's a link to the Xpress mail client for the mpx220 that you have to install on your phone.
I've been using it for the last few days to access my corporate email, and it seems to work very well.

Apparently, the people at Cingular aren't fully up to speed on this yet...

I read more about that service at:

While it looks very interesting, $30 - $40 per month seems a bit pricy. Do you feel it's good value for the money?

Interesting! The Cingular rep I talked to seemed to imply that there are no extra charges for the personal edition and that it'll just show up as KB transferred as part of my unlimited data access plan. I also don't recall agreeing to any additional plans or rates when I set up Xpress mail.

However, this is clearly not in line with the information on the page you found -- $30 to $40 is pretty steep and I wouldn't want to pay that much (at least not every month). So it looks like I'll have to give them another call and find out what's going on...
