MPX220 Research
I'm researching the MPX220 and the SE Z500.
For me the issues are 1) battery life, 2) speakerphone clarity, and 3) voice dialing.
Can owners of the MPX220 comment on each?
What are the talk/standby times?
What type of usage above (i.e. heavy calls, txt msg, surfing etc...)
How clear is the speakerphone?
How accurate is the voice dialing?
How many "slots" for voice dialing.
Does the MPX220 sync w/ PC based Outlook data (contacts, appt, etc...) straight out of the box or are additional accesories needed?

The Mpx220 bites monkey a$$. The phone has more bugs than an exterminator bidding on a $1MM contract.
Seriously, the ringer volume is too low, call volume is too low, the phone has problems pairing with some Btooth headsets and the camera is horrendous.
The phone does have a decent speaker and it will sync to Outlook/Outlook Express but I had to install software on my PC to allow this.
You will get lots of opinions on this phone and I am pretty sure most will be bad. Unfortunately because it's got great features and a nice form factor.

But at $25 bucks after rebates and only a one year contract, I was willing to give it a go. So far, I know how to use the phone, voice dial, bluetooth and download ringtones. There is a steep learning curve for me but this is my first smartphone.

TOO LATE, the MPx220 qwas on sale during the Black Friday sales day after Thanksgiving. Best Buy had them for $350 with a $300 mail in rebate, and a $25 gift card. For a Grand Total of $25, and only had to sign a 1 year contract. It was a 1 time deal.

I bought a V551 from Cingular almost 30 days ago because of all the problems with the MPX220. Now i see they may have fixed the problems. do you think they are fixed?

mine doesn't work (i have f/w 1.3), but you can make a voice dial call from the phone and if your headset is on and in range it auto picks up on the headset. I've heard that moto is working on a fix but who knows for sure.
