GPRS connection hangs

I have a problem with my GPRS connection hanging, whether checking for mail or web browsing. Typically I'll get the "connecting" message until the application times out. If I restart the phone (power cycle), things work again, but once I try the next application using GPRS, the connection hangs again.
Has anybody had this issue? Any ideas?
Thanks,
YG 😕

i've experienced the same problem sometimes. for me, when i go to a site it will sometimes not find the website before it times out. usually if i reboot or just wait 10 mins and try again it starts working again. it hasn't been a big problem yet because it only occasionally hangs up.

I've read it has been fixed in 1.3 firmware... I have already gone through XBM twice, and BB. Why does this have to be so hard?!?! ☚ī¸

I recently got the store to swap my .342 for a 1.3.

I noticed the same problem on my .342, but the GPRS connection would hang up after only an hour or so. When I got the 1.3 I initially thought the problem was fixed, but it too hangs eventually.

I saw on one of the forums that if you go into Settings -> Data Connections -> Options and change "idle disconnect after" to "none" that that would help. It seemed to help a little on the .342 but not on the 1.3, but that is purely subjective on my part - I can't prove that. Anyone else hear of this fix?

P.S. my 1.3 can also access the MediaNet favorite which the .342 could not.

Maybe its all network issues... One last question, what store swapped it for you? I got mine at BB and they swapped mine, but to a .342 again... seems they only have that. Any suggestions? XBM will not replace my phone until it is 30 days old... this is quite frustrating!
