can i use the unlimited media works 19.99 plan with the mpx220? or is there a separate data plan like the 49.99 blackberry plan. by the way can i view html sites on the pocket version of internet explorer that the phone comes with? or did cingular cripple this with a wap only browser?

sorry to bust your bubble guys but the media works package is no longer available for the mpx220. you have to get the PDA Connect package for $39.99 with unlimited internet. if you were one of the lucky ones who got the media works package while it was offered on the pda type phones you get to keep it, but anyone who needs to add data service now to their pda phone (mpx200/220/300, treo 600/650, siemens x66, etc) has to chose the pda connect package. i have noticed that policies and plans for cingular may change from one market to another, so this may not hold true everywhere.

Yesterday I signed up for MEdia Basic for $7.99 per month. I was offered MEdia Works but do not know how much I need. So at least in So Cal, it is still available.

damn. i knew it was too good to be true. 👿 👿 that swhy i wanted to dump my blackberry. the 49.99 ultd data ontop of the voice plan is killing my wallet. oh well. guess ill have to get the v551 with the 19.99 media works package and purchase the reqwireless html browser..... always a way to beat the system!!!! 😁

another loophole is signing up for the package online. there is no option for the pda data plan when u select the mpx220 online. just the medianet programs. it doesnt force the pda plan like when you "add to cart" with the blackberry.... where it makes u sign up for the ultd mail package. so u may still be able to get the media works 19.99 plan by signing up online.
