Motorola MPx220
Question For You Experts!!
First of all, I'm a new to this site, but I have to say this is website is the best!!
1) I just ordered my MPx220 on Dec 15, from the Cingular Business Dept. I should receive it in a couple more days. QUESTION: What are my chances of receiving version 1.30.0.0 or higher??
2) UPS will deliver my phone, but there is little to no chance I can sit at home all day waiting for the phone to be delivered. I was going to sign the permission slip to leave on my back porch. QUESTION: If the outside temp is in the 30's, will this cause any damage to the LCD display for the phone to sit out for 4-5 hours?

1. It is most likely that it will be 1.30. Both the .325 and .342 have been recalled as far as I know.
2. I think so are safe as long as the phone does not get wet.

Your phone will be fine unless it gets wet. One thing to remember...
Give your phone an hour or so to warm up before you plug in power or turn it on.

That's good to hear. I read another thread where the guy stated he looked up the version on his MPx220 and it stated version 1.70. He just got it a day or two ago. Hope I get as lucky. Will post results!

I went to two corporate Cingular stores yesterday and the versions they were sporting were both 1.3

I too ordered on Saturday from Cing Business. Got it on Tuesday. Its ROM is ver 1.3.
It was very cold upon delivery so after opening the box I laid everything out and let it warm up for a couple of hours before assembly and initial charge.
Came in a Blue/White box with a white label on the side w S/N and IMEI #s in very small print in the bottom right corner was a time/date stamp with 12/4/2004 7:42:40 so this must be a pretty fresh unit.
3rd day into it and I'm just starting to figure some of the stuff out. Cool phone though.
