VoiceMail
âšī¸ We just purchased two MPX220 phones directly from singular and change or service from AT&T to Cingular (magically changed hands). When a call is missed it is entered into the call history but there is no voice mail indication. If I power cycle the phone then the contacts softkey changes to voice-mail. This seems like a Cingular service issue. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a setting in the phone to activate this indicator without power cycling the phone?

I can't recall specifically...so far I have only had 1 voicemail message. I remember seeing the voicemail indicator, but I think I just pressed and held key#1 to call voice mail, because I hit a button to see the missed call's phone number.
I know on my Motorola V60t color phone, the soft key option to call voice mail would engage.

Make sure you are looking for the right indicator graphic. On your numberic keypad #1, the symbol to the right of the 1 shown on the key is what you should expect to see show up at the top of your screen.
The reason I bring this up is, my MPx220 user manual is not even CLOSE to being correct. In fact, it appears to relate to a previous version of the phone software. The graphic shown in my user manual does not match the one that actually shows up!!!
As for the network, my local dealer told me that voice-mail indications have been slow to appear over the past two weeks. But, I don't know if I should trust them, they had no clue how to get the indicator working, or how to get the #1 key to invoke voice mail.

Your tip was very helpful.. The special symbol on the #1 key does appear at the top message bar when a voicemail is available and the voicemail number is dialed by holding doen the #1 key.
However on ocassion the \ soft key sometimes says voicemail at the home screen instead of contacts when a voicemail is available. THe softkey always appears after the phone is power cycled and a voicemail is available.
