#1 key does not bring up voice mail

As of the last two days, when I press and hold down the #1 key on my numberic keypad, it no longer invokes voice mail. Instead, it just shows a large "1" in the dialing edit box, as if I am dialing a new phone number (long distance, perhaps).

Does anyone know how to make sense of this? I mean, sometimes I WILL want to dial long distance, and sometimes I will want to invoke my voice mail. How is this supposed to work, and how do I control its settings?

Maybe checking to see that the number for voice mail is still there?

select "start" then "settings" then "phone" then "call options"

my phone has the voice mail number there. Also, you may want to call Cingular. When I was getting mine activated, the lady made sure to have me hold #1 to see if it dialed voice mail; must also be some network-dependent feature
