How do you attach photos to contacts on the MPX220?? Help??

I am having a major problem with attaching my photos to my contacts. I went to my photo album, selected a picture, and attached it to a contact. Still, when a contact calls, I only see their phone number, name, and a generic blue human icon (on the internal and external screen). Please someone help me with this problem... 😢

Mine started working for some reason. I thought it had something to do w/having to store the contact on the SIM card, but I erased the contact from the SIM card and left only the phone's contact list and it is still working when she calls.

Well, let me ask you a few question: When I IR my contacts from my Samsung I300, did they automatically store to my SIM or phone? How can I check to see where my contacts are store? Last question, when you say that your photo ID is working, is working for all your contacts or just your girlfriend's contact? Answer these questions for me bro!!!

I would imagine that they are stored on your SIM. I pain-stakingly went through and entered all of mine in the old fashioned way.

The way to tell is that, if stored on the SIM, a little orange-ish colored logo appears next to contact name (to represent SIM card). As I recall, when stored on SIM, I don't think it allows multiple phone# types (i.e. mobile, work, fax, etc.) to store under one contact name from the outside screen. When stored on the phone, it allows those numbers and, when scrolling through to one individual w/multiple phone entries, you can hit the side arrow to toggle back and forth through the number type (letters will change as you toggle through--m,h,w, etc. to know which selection to dial).

I do not know if the ...

Yikes!!! 😳 That is scary if you actually had to input all of your contacts seperately. Man, that totally defeats the purpose of having IR. I really like MPX220/firmware 1.3 but Motorola needs to have their butts kicked for rushing with this phone. The instruction book totally sucks. With a very complex and high-ended phone like ours, Moto should have explained everything to the "tee." Please let me know what happens when others call you. 😎

I've been pissin' and moanin' about the manual since I received my MPx220 in the mail!!

Trial and error is the only way we are going to learn, I just don't want to mess anything up on this phone.

If you accidentally send any files to the wrong location or delete specific files (especially dll files) through "File Manager" and you are screwed, because it can mess up the Windows OS.

Dude, I totally agree with you!! MPXers are totally on our on with support and instructions. Believe me, I was trying to watch what I was doing also when messing around with my files. If we make one mistake, just like I mentioned earlier, we will be in trouble because we don't have any support. I have called Moto to go off about the manual issue. I am going to also do a new write up at Cnet.com. Like I said, I really like the new upgrade (1.3) and I am going to mention the improvement in my write up. Still, I am going to mention about the piss poor job by Moto on the manual. Now, if I can just get this Photo ID to work (LOL). 👿
