standard ringtone plays before custom

When callers with custom ringtones call, I frequently hear a few seconds of my default ringtone before it switches over to the custom one.

Is there a setting I have wrong or is the system just slow to link the correct tone to the caller ID. The correct picture ID comes up immediately.

I sometimes have the same problem. I did find it works better if you store the custom ringtone on the phone instead of the card.
