Automatic clock updates?

Ok - what year is this? Unless I'm missing something, MS SmartPhones on Cingular's network have no built-in ability to auto-sync their internal clock with that delivered by the GSM/GPRS network. Either that, or it's disabled by Cingular/AT&T, because my MPx220 maintains its internal clock independantly from the network. The only way to get it to auto-update is by ActiveSyncing it with a network-connected PC which is running WinXP (XP has built-in time auto-update).

Every phone I ever used with Sprint and Verizon updated the phone's internal clock to match the time delivered by the network. Why doesn't Cingular do this with the MS Smartphones? Does this feature work with Cingular's non-Smartphones?
