How can I connect headphones to my mpx220?

it's not meant to be an mp3 player, but it could easily be used as one with a mini sd card. now, i see the only audio output on the phone is a 2.5mm jack for a headset....but, is there any way i could get some type of 2.5mm to 1/8" adapter? and if there is one, would sound come out of both speakers? or is there some type of headphone dongle that would connect to the bottom of the phone?

thanks,
george

I bought an adapter at Radio Shack for around 3 dollars, but I didn't like it. I found this one on eBay for 10 dollars, and it's much better.

My advice, take a look on eBay under: Home > All Categories > Cell Phones > Accessories, Parts > Headsets. Then search for MPx220.

Radio Shack does have an adaptor, but it's sort of a pain. Sticks out too much and the connection is finickey. Motorola sells a 2.5 set of earbuds with a mike for answering calls.

I bought the pair of headphones off of the Motorola site for that phone. Those things ROCK! They sound good, and it doubles as a earpiece when the phone rings...the music stops so just press the button on the cord and you're on the phone.

... If so, do you know if Voice Dialing works with these?

You can speak the command throught the in line mike to voice dial, but I can only make it work by opening the phone and initiating it with the side button. It would be nice if the button on the mike opened voice dial without having to touch the phone.

Boy are these things marked up. My roomate works at Best Buy and I told him to pick me up a pair of these with his discount. $32 before discount... $8 after discount. So if you know anybody working for BB get them to pick you a pair up. They are pretty sweet.

ummm im a tech at best buy and i price checked those headphones yesterday and they were 22 bucks after discount....weird. and btw accessories are marked up ridiculously. i get 30 dollar cables for like 2 bucks. on a $500 tv we'll probably make $30 off the tv and then $100 off the accessories. thats why wires and **** r so damn expensive.

btw bby discount is wholesale+5% so some discounts are just ridiculous.

Yes, it does. BTW, it's a tad disconcerting talking on the thing as the person on the other end appears to be speaking from inside your head rather than at one ear 🤣
