Can only download headers--not bodies--of email messages

Hello,

I've got my phone set to access my email (from a garden-variety commercial ISP) via IMAP. I get all the message headers, but when I mark a message for download, nothing happens (even if I subsequently hit Send/Receive from the menu again)--all I can ever see is the headers and not the content of any of the messages.

Also, the Send/Receive sequence never completes. It makes the following progression:

Connecting...
Logging on...
Receiving Headers (the messages start displaying in the window here)
Receiving Folders

...but it never completes. It just sits on Receiving Folders. What's the deal with that? My account has an INBOX and a Sent folder; that's it.

It is pretty darn frustrating to be able to look at all the messa...

If I'm not mistaken, downloading only the headers is a set up to attempt to save on data transmission and thus cost (not for me b/c I have MEdia Works).

I believe, if you scroll down and highlight the header, there is an option on one of the softkeys to then download the whole message.

I don't know if that will remedy your problem, but I can positively tell you that mine will download the header and then I have to either select from the menu soft key or tap the blue activation button again? (I can't remember for certain, since I've only downloaded my e-mail from peoplepc a couple times)

1 Text Messages
2 Outlook E-Mail
3 IMAP4
4 mMode Email
5 Multimedia Messages

IMAP4 is what is configured with the information for my ISP. I select that, and I get to the list of email m...

It looks like my problem downloading email message bodies from my ISP only happens when I used IMAP. I reconfigured my phone to hit the same ISP with POP--and it worked!

Any idea why the phone's mail client would have problems processing IMAP?
