Hey, I have downloaded that registry editor to my pc, but I can't figure out how in the world to install it on my phone? With numerous other programs, I have downloaded to my pc, then active syn and then copy and paste the file onto my phone. Then use file manager and open that file and it installs.

I realize it isn't a .cab file, but I copied and pasted onto my phone both internal and storage card, but it won't do anything.

How do you install the program? Thanks in advance for your help. 😁

Which selection did you make at the downloads page? "Smartphone 2002, 2003 (ARM/PXA)" I believe is the correct one, which should get you a CAB file named: regedit.Stngr_ARM.CAB

What is the filename that you got?

Not that one, but I swear I don't think the .CAB file option was available. I'll check again.

thanks

Got the .CAB file. Wow, that went smoothly. You are right man, you have to be quick on your fingers or the program will shut down on you. After 5 tries, I got mine set. Works beautifully.

I wonder, are there any settings for earpiece volume and/or MP3 volume levels? Sounds reasonable. That would be awesome to change the level of volume on these settings. Also, are there any different settings that would improve the camera abilities? That program is cool, but I think if you aren't careful you can really mess up Windows on the phone. All the hard resets in the world won't save you then.

Here is a registry key change that will keep PHM from shutting down unexpectedly. It actually was recomended to allow more programs to stay in memory at the same time. I noticed that PHM stopped shutting down after I changed it.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\L owMem\ProgramMem

Increase it up to 64 and it will run better (96 also seems to be a popular setting for this key). You may need to reboot afterwards for it to work.

Thanks again dchester.

BTW, do you think there are any corrections to the remaining glitches with version 1.3, or are issues such as the camera qlty and earpiece vol not adjustable with the registry editor (by placing different values)??

Only reason I'm thinking its possible is in seeing how people with older firmware versions had more complaints/problems and the newer software seemed to fix a lot of glitches

Here are a couple registry keys that some people say have helped:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategorie s\InCall\InitVol
Increasing this to 5 seems to help some people

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume\Volume
Setting this to the maximum value will help, although a lot of people already have this at the Maximum value (FFFFFFFF Hex, or 4294967295 Decimal).

Another one that I recently saw, but haven't played with yet is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone\Vol

With my phone, the only time I have have had an issue hearing someone has been in a noisy environment, so I need to wait until I'm on the highway in my car to hear if the tweeks I've done have actually helped or not.

I have retrieved some of the coolest info on this phone from guys like you! PLEASE, let me know if you find a better setting for the HKCU/controlpanel/phone/vol.

BTW, have you played around with the Betaplayer? I believe that's what it is called. I downloaded a free one from I think coolsmartphone.com

Anyways, I guess you can watch movies on this phone (obviously you'd better have at least a 512 MB card). My question is, where in the world would you download the format of movie needed to play it on this phone?
