This is a great little registry editor that works well. You need to be connected - best by USB cable -- you can edit the registry direct from your PC. Helped me get rid of the annoying startup/shutdown sounds.

Looks good...Thanks for the link. Messing with the registry is a little scary though. Are there any step-by-steps for replacing the carrier splash screen?
