modem steps

Can anyone please tell me the steps to set this thing up to be a modem---

yes, what you need to do is go to the modem link on the phone, then make it active then hook up the phone to you pc, the pc should pick up that you have new hardware, and you need to instal the usb wireless modem on you computer, then you can set up a connection is also in the manual on page 88 to 83 i think

I have tried to get this to work as a modem since October. Some Cingular reps say you have to download the Cingular Connection Manager software and add a data connect package (not the Media Works). Some say you don't. However, after installing the Connection Manager, it does not recognize the MPx220. However, if you activate the modem link (in the accessories folder), you get a connection between the PC and MPx220 (I used the USB wire), but it will not connect to the cingular system. If you ever figure it out...please let me know.

BTW, there are three pieces of information you will need from you carrier to get it working, the Initialization string, the username, & password (in Step 5 of the instructions it mentions this).

Here is the Cingular data needed to Connect (case sensitive):

Initialization String: AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","WAP.CINGULAR","",0,0

username: [email protected]
password: CINGULAR1
