i finally had some time to mess around w/ my bluetooth usb adapter...without ever setting this up before, it was tough, because there were so many conflicts. i finally got everything installed and it's great. I'll probably never use the usb cable again. I'd reccomend that you guys should go out and get a usb bluetooth adapter...very cool being able to sync, just being in the vicinity of a pc.

first thing i did was uninstall my bluetooth device completely...i was using it prior to this, but could never get it to function w/ activesync. then i restarted and reinstalled it, just to completely start all the settings from scratch. You'll need to pair devices again. Then, I found out which bluetooth COM port was incoming (mine was COM 6). Trough my bluetooth device's software, I set up a bluetooth serial port on COM 6. This will make the pc think that whatever you're talking to your bluetooth adapter with (in this case, the mpx220) is actually plugged into a serial port. I then went through the options on my pc's activesync program and told it to activesync w/ devices on COM 6. Lastly, I opened up activesync on my phone and told it to ...

Hi Geo, I am definitely connected, but I must be missing a setting within the activesync. I'm with you the best thing I had with my palm was the wireless hotsync, would really like to make the mpx220 work too. My mpx220 sees the PC and the PC sees the smartphone. I've tried to force a sync from start > 5 > menu > 3 on the mpx220, but still doesn't work, I guess I'm back to the USB-Kirk

I got Activesync to work via bluetooth, but once the phone gets far enough away to lose the connection, I have to initiate sync again through the phone. Is this just the way it is, or is there some way to make it automatically sync once the phone gets close enough to establish a connection?

Doesn't your phone come with the USB sync cable? I ordered my MPX220 from Wirefly and it comes with this cable. I did not know that I could turn my phone into a modem via this cable. Anyhow, I also bought a belkin usb bluetooth for $9 from CompUSA and got both to work at the same time over the weekend.
