Caller names using headset
I was wondering if there was a feature/application that would say the name of the caller when there's an incoming call. I don't care whether it's read or I have to actually record the name of everyone of my contacts.
I don't want to have to check the phone every time a call comes in (when I'm using the headset).
Any help?
Thanks.
But think for a moment your inquiry.....
If there is really a feature/application (either built-in or third party)that would say the name of the caller, I would imagine that the voice would sound like a robot. Also what if the name of the person is something really wierd and cannot be pronounced by that feature/application like Mr. Krishnalakshminarayanbalasubraniums?? I just wonder how that application/feature would say that...
So the MOST OBVIOUS way to do what you want to do is to RECORD the name yourself first. Then save that as one of your ringers in the SOUNDS folder.
But cmon think about what you are asking... ...

However... currently, the phone is able to identify my speech pattern to make phone calls, etc. I can say Voice Call -> Jonathan Peterson (i.e.) - > Mobile
and it calls Jonathan Peterson's mobile number. I figured it would be able to synthesize some names, even if it pronounced it wrongly.
But with my prior phone (a Sony Ericsson T300), I was able to record the names of each person, but these were only heard IF AND ONLY IF I had my headset on. In other words, I don't want to be somewhere (without the headset) and hear someone's name as the ringer. does this make sense?
Am I not getting something?
