Motorola MPx220

a rep told me that cingular will not get any new phones this year.hope she dont know nuthin cuz i realy want this phone.

ATTWS today said September 20th. Then again I just saw the "MPX" that will be released in 2005 and now I want that phone instead of the 220. I guess I'll just have to get them both. 🙂

ive seen the mpx i like it but it will be way too much.im just goin to get the mpx220 unless the mpx comes out at the same time for cingular and it isnt that expensive.

🤣 saw the road map for cingular today and it showed the MPx and the Mpx220 and also the ace and Siem. Blue angel. but they are all expensive. except the mpx220..that's about or expected at 379.99 with a two year contract...also the Mpx was like 649.99 with a two year contract...again that's what is expected so it might go up or down when it comes out...good luck everyone 🤣

a Cingular rep said that this phone as well as the Motorola a630 was already in the inventory on their computer system. Yet, it wasn't in the stores yet. Also, the rep didn't mention a release time.

I've read in several wireless publications that the phone should come out at the end of 2004. Look at how long the V600 was due to come out before it actually did.

I stopped by the Cingular store on the way home tonite & spoke with two very nice, if somewhat less than informed salespeople.

They had both heard of the V551 & RAZR V3. They said they were hoping to get the V551 in next Friday, Sept. 17th and the RAZR V3 at the beginning of Oct.

Neither one had even heard of the MPx220. ☹️

Now being "less than informed salespeople" I would give less crecedence to them not having heard of the MPx220. However, given that they know the RAZR V3 is coming out in October and that they had not even heard of the MPx220, well I will let you draw your own conclusions on that one (not good...) ☹️

I may or may not have seen a Motorola newsletter that mentions the V180, V220 (AT&T), V505 and MPX220 as being "right around the corner".

I was at the ATT Wireless Store and they stated in the next few weeks it will be out.

Let's hope!

However, I would hope that they would wait & fix the "no voice dialing thru a bluetooth headset" problem before releasing it to the general public first... That is just unacceptable for a phone of this type...

sup peeps!! i work for a cingular agent and today i got a chance to meet with my motorola rep. in a couple of weeks to a month or two, we will have in stock V180, V551 (sweet phone 🙂 ), A630 (awesome phone! 😁 ) and the MPX220 (hella sweet phone!! 😈 ). i got a chance to play with live versions of the A630, MPX220 and V551. my personal opinion, i would get the A630 but only because i do about 20+ text messages a day and the keyboard was very comfortable. the V220 i already have in stock. HOLLA!!! 😎

Did the MPx220 have the "voice dialing thru a bluetooth headset" issue resolved yet? Or is it still broken???

It it's still broken, I for one ain't interested... 😡

unfortunately i am not sure if that issue is fixed. i did not have a bluetooth headset to setup onto the phone. i only got a chance to look thru the phone for like 2-5 minutes. sorry i couldnt be of any more help. 😕

For me, that is a make or break feature for this phone... I really hope they have it fixed before it is released....

ATTW has the v220 and v180 in stock as well as the a845. But I don't see it listed on their website.

Btw, the AT&T salespeople at the store I visited had never even heard of the MPx220, let alone knew anything about it... At least the Cingular salespeople at the store I visited knew about the MPx220, V551 and RAZR V3 even though they couldn't tell me when any of those 3 would be available thru Cingular...

Wow... the rep didn't even tell me that they had gotten the V505. I did notice that the V600 isn't showing on the website anymore though. It was interesting to me that when you click the new products button, it shows 3 refurbished phones. Hmm...
