Can the Smartphone synch with a MAC?

I'm probably going to the the Mpx220 and have a normal "work" laptop, but was considering buying a Mac for personal use. Does anyone know if the smartphone/activesync will work with apple computers? or is it a typical MS only synch.

thanks in advance.

MPx220 as a laptop Modem?

Does anybody have experience in using the MPx220 as a modem via cable connection with a laptop (Win XP)? I am more interested in hearing from anybody who has actually achieved a successful connection.
Thanks very much.

Where the *#$%$ is the Moto-branded Holster??

This phone has officially been for sale in the US since mid-October, right? That's nearly 3 months, and still no sign of a Motorola-branded plastic holster. Firstly, it's appalling that a phone in this price class didn't come with one in the box, but to not even have one available for purchase within the first 3 months is ridiculous.

Anyone with me, here?

Otherwise, a few small nits aside, I really like the phone 😁

Cingular GPRS Settings

As I was playing with my new phone, I accidentally changed my settings and I can no longer access the internet. 😕
Can someone post the default settings for me so I can fix my phone? Thanks.
Cingular customer service doesn't even have this phone in their database - when I told them what phone I had, they said, "You mean the V220?"

Automatic clock updates?

Ok - what year is this? Unless I'm missing something, MS SmartPhones on Cingular's network have no built-in ability to auto-sync their internal clock with that delivered by the GSM/GPRS network. Either that, or it's disabled by Cingular/AT&T, because my MPx220 maintains its internal clock independantly from the network. The only way to get it to auto-update is by ActiveSyncing it with a network-connected PC which is running WinXP (XP has built-in time auto-update).

Every phone I ever used with Sprint and Verizon updated the phone's internal clock to match the time delivered by the network. Why doesn't Cingular do this with the MS Smartphones? Does this feature work with Cingular's non-Smartphones?

Maybe someone should write a (hop...

Using Bluetooth Headset & Bluetooth Car Kit?

My MPx220 works great when paired with my Bluetooth headset and also works great when paired with my Bluetooth car kit.

However, it does not work well when paired with both at the same time. The headset and the car kit are not within range of each other, so there should not be any problem with the MPx220 having difficulty of pairing with the wrong one.

When I come within range of one of the devices, the symbol at the top of the MPx220 screen shows that my phone has connected with the device. However, I am not able to answer the phone using the device.

Right now the only solution seems to be to only have one device paired at a time. I have to delete one pairing and create the other each time I want to switch devices.

Has anyone...

Can anyone backup some of files in the Windows folder?

Can anyone backup some of files in the Windows folder (in ROM folder, I believe)?

I'm checking to find out if I can backup or copy some files in ROM, but I can not copy/paste and drag/drop to duplicate files in other folders on the MPx 220 phone or in a folders on my PC (with activesync 3.7.1).

Does anyone know how to backup or copy files?

Error Playing Media File

I've transfered MP3's to my mini sd card directly using the card slot on my computer and I've tried using Active Synch with the card in the phone. I keep getting error messages with some songs. The Active Synch method took a ridiculously long time, but I thought it would convert the files properly. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Outgoing e-mail server for Cingular?

Hi All,

I used to use the Audiovox SMT 5600 on AT&T's network, and had the e-mail client set-up to do my cablemodem's pop/smtp e-mail. Everything worked great- it received mail from my cablemodem's POP server, and I used the "pdasmtp.attwireless.net" smtp server for all outgoing mail.

Now I have the Moto MPx220 through Cingular and am trying to set it up to do the same. I have successfully set up the e-mail service on the phone to receive mail from my cablemodem's POP server, but no one at Cingular knows what SMTP server I should use for outgoing mail.

I can't send through my cablemodem's smtp server because I'm not logged in there (their restrictions) and the previous attwireless.net server doesn't work now that I've migrated ove...

interchangeable with mpx200

Hello,

I just purchased the mpx220 online and I'm getting rid of my mpx200. Does anyone know if they use the same accessories (ie charger, usb cable or batteries)?

I also wanted to know if anyone knew of a good place to purchase different covers for the phone.

Thank You,

Jayden

spreadsheets

Quick question:

Is there a way to view and work with spreadsheets on the MPx220? I may be getting one in a bit and I'd like to use the spreadsheet that I use on my destop to keep track of my checking account on the go. This way I have real time knowledge of where my funds are without breakin out the checkbook and balancing on the spot.

Anyone using the MPx220 I'd appreciate some info on workin with spreadsheets with it.

"Call Divert Activated"

I think that I may have done this by accident, but when I make a call, while it is dialing, "Call Divert Activated" comes up on my screen. I can push "OK", or do nothing and the screen goes away. However, I think that this is affecting my Bluetooth earpiece. I cannot hear out of it; others can hear me, though. Any way, does anyone know how to deactivate call divert?

MS Activesync 3.8 Released

Microsoft released a new version of Activesync. Unfortunately it didnt fix the problems that many have been experiencing in synching apps like EWallet. The MS site claims the new version does the followin:

"ActiveSync 3.8 contains a set of security enhancements that provide a more secure syncing experience with a Windows PC, specifically:

Windows XP SP2 security pop up warnings that appear the first time a Windows Mobile devices is docked have been eliminated.

Remote PC Sync (via Wifi or LAN) is turned off by default. However, users can turn this functionality back on by navigating to File > Connection Settings and checking "Allow network (Ethernet)..."
