Motorola MPx220

I know you guys went through the firmware issues already but a couple of weeks ago i bought the mpx220 at bestbuy and it had firmware 1.3 but it had issues like the sound is pretty low when u make calls and camera issues, so now, yesterday i went there to buy it again after i returned becuase they said they had the upgradeed versions of operator .342 and manufacture 1.80 so when i came home the checked the phone guess what it was 1.3 and the operator .250 and again it has same issues like it did before and they said they will have the reflash shipments coming in couple of days so should i wait and get the 1.80 version.

I stumbled on a startup mode I was unaware of by pressing the "volume down" and power key to power up the phone. When doing so, the phone comes up at "OMP Loader V 3.142", "Build Time: Oct. 3 2004", then "UART Download mode!!" "Ready".
if the USB is connected it says "USB connected!". 😳

Seems like this would be the mode to upload / download firmware(???)

I searched the web and found nothing about this. Anybody have any thoughts?

Are there others that are having the problem of getting online using Explorer? It is taking forever to get online; actually, I have not been able to get online (I got tired of waiting for the connection). 😕

For some reason, when I bring up my Hotmail account on my MPX220, the list from my Hotmail Inbox is not complete. When I click on 'Previous 20' or 'Next 20', I get the same list. Anyone have a clue what's going on?

Just got the Mpx220 and the camera is all messed up... like its really dark and stuff and when u put it on the different modes it just gets like real red or greed shaded and still really cant get any quality out of it... cant even hardly tell what it is in the picture....

Anybody else had this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks...

I'M from Germany and I bought the phone in US.
When I pressed numbers it comes on screen in a US format, meaning (XXX)-XXX-XXXX .
Anyway to change this to a full number format?

I bought me a 256 and it seems to be working fine. I put a MP3 on it and it plays nicely.

What else can the Mini SD hold? I tried putting ringtones on it, but could not figure out how to access them. Other than MP3, how will the Mini SD benefit me?

Previously using a V600, it was very easy to switch to vibrate mode using the smart buttons without opening the flip. This was convenient if I suddenly found myself in an environment where a ring was inconvenient. With the MPX220, I cannot find a way to switch ring modes without drilling through menues. Is there a quick switch option?

i wonder if anyone has encountered this..i went to check on the SE s710a.. i asked if that phone would be covered seeing as how it was below the 400$ limit i heard lockline had for coverage.. he said it wasnt as mich the limit as it was if lockline would have to fork out money and thingz of that nature filling the replacement orders.. he said the mpx220 is only 299$ and is NOT COVERED by lockline.. do any of you know this >?? or have heard >??

Has anyone discovered a way to either sync notes from Outlook or come up with an equitable replacement? This is where I keep all important information (kids medical numbers, social security numbers, etc.)on my Palm IIIc which I would sync with OL. I bought the MPX220 as a replacement for the Palm. PDA and cell phone in one means I can carry a smaller purse!

I have about 4 songs on my phone and all of them stop from about 1:30 to 2:00 minutes into the song. Most of them last about 3 mins. the files on my comp go to the full length but not the ones on the phone. Is there somehting im doing wrong with it or does it just do this?

i read that someone had to modify there phone to go to tmobile. if i do is it complicated

I have downloaded a few games and that playlist manager. BTW, you have to mess with the spelling otherwise this site thinks you're trying to talk about something else.

I was wondering if anyone tried downloading and installing the Screen Saver Package? I installed on my phone just the same as the other programs that work, but I can't get the screen savers to work.

I asked regarding this on the site's online forum, but the info they told me didn't work. One stated to change screensaver settings under power management options. THERE IS NO SCREENSAVER option under power management on these phones.

Has anybody else tried to install this program off this website and, if so, did you experience the same problem?

I have the ipac2250 and want to use the mpx220 as a modem, to connect to the internet, how do I do that? Does anyone know what settings to use on the ipac and the 220?

I am tinkering with the wireless sync'ing. What exactly is this feature? Can I sync with my home computer (contacts and all) over the net, or is this something else? And if I can do that, how do I get it going? I am struggling a little. Thanks!
