Bluejacking
Hello all:
I am afraid to get a bluetooth phone (ex: 8100 when it's out or V-710) due to people bluejacking. For those of you who don't know, bluejacking is where someone within a certain range intercepts your signal and can listen in on your call or text message right to your phone, etc. That might not be exact, but it's a general idea. This might be speculation, but at least with the VX-8000, no bluejacking is possible. Any insight on this topic would be greatly apprectated. Thanks in advance.

to be honest i dont think bluetooth is all that great..it will cost you a buttload to get..hence verizon makes you buy it seperate just to make more money..i dont see a very good reason to make my cell phone anymore wireless. it just allows you to access your phone wirelessly.. i dont see a good enough reason to pay so much more for bluetooth go with the 8000 ..THE V710 SUCKS BADD i had it for 9 days and that was enough to know it sucks..

lol thanks..could you reply to my post about the usb connectivity on the vx8? idk if you know the answers but could you take a look at it and lemme know wat u know?

i read it and am not too sure as of now. i know that it is gonna be about a month until the USB thing comes out, but i doubt that they are gonna charge you to transfer data via the cable. if they try and do that, just do an esn switch back to your old phone, load everything onto your phone from the PC and then esn switch it back to the 8000.

what is an esn switch? so you mean that i will not be able to transfer any data on my computer watsoever for about a month? i just hope that i can make mp3 ringtones since the phone does have an mp3 player..

i bet you can make mp3 tones. an esn swtich is basically making your old phone work instead of the new one, then transfer the data from the computer top the 8k and then ,make the 8000 work again. i know that the usb cables won;t get to my store until the middle of feb or so.

ok thanks alot..so do u think i could pick up a vx8 on next tuesday. feb 1st? or will i have to wait a few days..im going to try it for 10 days..and if i dont like the size of it ...kuz i carry my phones in my pocket. i might get the 7000.. you think it'll be too big to be comfortable in your pocket?

it is just gonna be a little bit bigger than the 7k and it'll have a speaker and better camera. not to forget about the EVDO thing. i would be waiting at the VZW store before they opened to get the 8k.

why's that? could i go to the nearest radio shack to get it? or should i go to a vzw customer service store? do you think they would run out by afternoon when i got there?

go to the VZW store. they offer the new every two. radio shacks are the worst place to buy cell phones from. they might be sold out by afternoon because of the high anticipation for the phone, go as early as possible.

well radio shacks offer new every 2 also i think because they reccomended me to buy a new phone at the 2 yr contractors price. is that the same? ill go to the vzw store then since they'l probly get it first

New every two is not the same as purchasing a phone a the 2 yr contract price. New every 2 is used w/ the 2 yr contract as a loyalty credit for customers that are completeing a 2 yr agreement.

yeah hes right the last thing you should do even if you must wait or order through 611, is buy it at a 3rd party location (radio shack, authorized retailer)
