No data kits?

On the Verizon web site it does not list BroadbandAccess as a feature of the VX8000, the SCH-a890, or the CDM8940, and a data kit is not listed as one of the available accessories for any of these phones either.

Does anyone know if Verizon is taking the position that they do not want these used for PC data access over EV-DO?

I have a feeling that you are correct. Because when I took the test trial they said that if I connect it to a PC to use as a modem they'll immediately cancel the trial and take the phone back etc etc. I mean it is high-speed access, and they're always trying to make a buck. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, if they'll ever offer the data kit or if they can actually monitor your usage. If anyone has any further knowledge of this I'd like to know as well.

LG doesn't have any accessories available yet but the headset. (And that only by calling - none of it's on their accessories web ordering system.)

However, there _is_ a USB cable shown in the accessories list at the back of the VX8000 manual... I wonder if you just plugged in the data cable from a 6000 or 7000 whether it would work or not...

Can anyone give this a try?
